Cooper & Hall’s Joe Wright spent 24 hours playing non-stop table tennis to raise money for charity.

The Assistant Quantity Surveyor took on visitors at the Staveley & Copgrove Village Hall in Knaresborough throughout the day and night with friends Graham Bowland and organiser 84-year-old Ken Barker.

Joe, who was raising money for Parkinson’s UK, said: “We had a five-minute break every hour, which was stretched a little towards the end!

“I have never thought about my bed so much. When we finished I just wanted to sleep.”

The team aim to raise £9,500 to push the total collected for local charities over the last 18 years to over £100,000.
